As February half-term approaches, parents in Surrey will be on the lookout for engaging activities to keep their children entertained. Fortunately, there is a plethora of options for things to do with kids in Surrey, ranging from day camps to exciting outings.

DAY CAMPS
There is so much to do in Surrey during February Half Term
1. Kiko
Kiko offers a fantastic experience for kids, combining fun and skill improvement in football. With activities designed to build children’s confidence, Kiko's day camp is an excellent choice for parents seeking a fun-filled day in a supportive environment.
2. Startastic
For those with budding gymnasts, Startastic promises an entertaining day camp. Gymnasts rotate around a variety of equipment through a day’s session, including vaults, beams, bars plus there are games and arts&crafts.
3. Wild Woodland Camp Painshill
Nature enthusiasts will thrive in the Wild Woodland Camp at Painshill. Surrounded by the beauty of the outdoors, children participate in activities that foster a connection with nature, making it an ideal choice for those who enjoy being outside.
DAYS OUT IN SURREY
1. RHS Wisley
A trip to the Royal Horticultural Society's Wisley Gardens is a fantastic day out for families with kids of any age. With its stunning landscapes, themed gardens, and interactive exhibits plus an adventure playground and lots of cafes dotted around, RHS Wisley promises a day filled with natural beauty and educational opportunities.
2. Polesdon Lacey
For history enthusiasts, Polesdon Lacey, a National Trust property, offers a glimpse into the Edwardian era. Explore the grand house, stunning gardens, and picturesque estate while engaging in family-friendly activities.
3. Brooklands Museum

Kids love the petting farms at Bocketts and Hobbledown, plus the soft play centres and playgrounds mean they are full days out.
5. Hobbledown Farm
Perfect for animal lovers and kids with a lot of enegy, Hobbledown Farm has countless play areas and a variety of animals. Children can interact with furry friends while parents can grab a coffee. There’s enough to do here for an entire day.
6. Bocketts Farm
Bocketts Farm is a haven for young animal enthusiasts. From feeding the farm animals to enjoying tractor rides, this farm also has a large soft play area and several playgrounds outside. Like Hobbledown, there’s enough to entertain little ones all day long.
7. Discovery Land at Priory Farm
Priory Farm has several attractions for both kids and parents alike. It’s the Disovery Land that attracts families, with its nature trail which is wonderful at any time of year. There are tree houses and a fairy city amongst many other things to entertain on a wholesome family day out in Surrey. We love the farm shop too, which offers fresh produce.
FREE OR CHEAP LOCAL IDEAS
1. Walk to The Barn KT9 Over Ashtead Common
Take a leisurely stroll to the Barn KT9 over Ashtead Common. The Common is great for kids - it’s enormous and has so many routes with lots of trees perfect for climbing. The Barn KT9 has a fab outdoor cafe with lots of delicious yumminess behind its counter, and coffee for you (or even an espresso martini!).
2. Regiment of Trees
Explore the Regiment of Trees on Langley Vale. It’s an awe inspiring site, and easy to give the kids some fresh air for a short walk.
3. Ashtead Library – Chinese New Year Event
We are huge fans of Ashtead Library at any time for kids activities. They offer so much there, often for free, and if not for just a pound or two. They run lego club, science days, and chess club on a regular basis, but this half term they will be running a Lunar New Year event where kids can make their very own dragon. All, for just £1. You need to book ahead.
4. Wild Bird Treasure Hunt at Squire's
Squire's Garden Centre is offering a free Wild Bird Treasure Hunt which will keep your kids entertained, and there’s no need to book. They are also offering a ‘Paint a Bird-shaped Flowerpot’ for £6.50 which is bookable online and on from Monday 13th to Friday 17th.
5. Pancake Day
Celebrate Pancake Day by either enjoying a home-cooked pancake feast or visiting Il Gelatissimo at Epsom Social for crepe decorating.
DAYS OUT IN LONDON
Days out in London offer so much for kids to do this February half term.
1. The Moonwalkers: A Journey with Tom Hanks
Embark on a cinematic journey with "The Moonwalkers" exhibition, offering a fascinating insight into all the past and future missions to the moon. It’s up at Lightroom near Kings Cross. While it’s not the cheapest at £15 for under 18s and adults from £25, you can stay for longer than one show, which lasts about 50 minutes.
2. Science Museum in South Kensington
Head to the Science Museum in South Kensington for a day of interactive exhibits and hands-on learning, perfect for curious minds of all ages. What’s great is that admission is totally free, but you do have to prebook.
3. Thames Clipper from Waterloo to the Tower of London
Enjoy a scenic Thames Clipper ride from Waterloo to the Tower of London, offering a unique perspective of the city's landmarks. Once there, have a look around the Tower which has so much to see, but also space for the kids to run around. Queues to see the Crown Jewels are always long, though they do move fairly quickly. Your best bet is to arrive early. On your way home, indulge in a gin and tonic from the bar onboard the boat.
4. Southbank Centre's Imagine Children's Festival
Head to the Southbank Centre's Imagine Children's Festival this February, which offers countless free events for children and families. There’s also a performance of ‘There’s a Monster in Your Show’, a musical written by Tom Fletcher and events by much loved children’s authors Rob Biddulph and Michael Rosen.
